Anti-Racism Training for the GLAM Sector

This anti-racism course for the GLAM sector will take you through the genesis of white supremacy and how it effects areas of the lives of non-white people and how this effects the GLAM sector.

This course is compiled of self guided videos and reflective practices, broken up into 6 modules. Each module include 4 hours of online lectures and 4 hours required reading / listening or watching. The course will end with suggested further reading for those who are interested.

This course can be completed in your own time. It can be broken into 2 hours a week for 6 months, or completed quicker if you have more time, or slower if you need more time.

 

Transgender and Gender Variance Training for GLAM Professionals

Transgender and Gender Variant awareness takes you on a journey to better understand the birth of the gender binary, correct terminology, and how to create Trans Gender and Gender Variant inclusive spaces in the GLAM sector.

This course is 2-2.5 hours long

Implicit and Unconscious Bias Training for GLAM professionals

CW: Reference to historical discrimination against Women, BAME, LBTQIA+, and Disabled Peoples.

Although BAME, LGBTQIA+ Disabled communities and Women are now legally protected, much of the historical discrimination has social implications that carry on to this day, which in turn become implicit / unconscious bias. In this course you will learn about these historical events, how they impact our biases, how these biases continue to spread, and the ways in which we can challenge these biases.

This unconscious bias training will take you through the three main biases, Perception bias, Affinity Bias and Confirmation Bias.

The course includes video lectures, one pop quiz and reflective assessments.

Diversity, Inclusion and Intersectionality Training for GLAM Professionals

This course outlines the definitions of Intersectionality, Diversity and Inclusion, why these are important in the cultural sector and how they can improve the lives of the most under represented groups through creating richer understandings of our differences and similarities.

In this course you will gain an understanding of the most under represented groups, their experiences within the GLAM sector, the potential life advantages you hold, and how you can utilize these to become a good ally in whichever role you hold.

This is a beginners course you can build on this knowledge with the more specific training available on the website.

This training is broken down into different parts to help facilitate learning at your own pace.
